US Weekly: Brooke & Charlie Sheen’s Preggatini™ Party

March 16, 2009

As seen in the March 16, 2009 edition of US Weekly, the Sheens and their celebrity guests enjoyed Preggatinis at their fabulous celebrity-studded baby shower at a fancy private home in the Hollywood Hills.

Pulling up to the driveway, my team marveled at how the house resembled a luxury hotel more than a single family residence, and the sprawling backyard could almost rival the length of a soccer field.

Staff buzzed around for hours setting up picnic tables for the kids, plating hors d’oeuvres for the adults and at the bar, my crew was preparing the Preggatinis! The party included face painting, a bubble room, Wii games, a frozen yogurt station and a parade of A-List party guests. Big sisters-to-be Sammie and Lola Sheen had a blast, and other well-dressed tots teetered around with cupcakes in their hands and big smiles on their frosting-covered little faces.

Hollywood has been very receptive to the Preggatini concept, and the Sheen party was no exception. Even the non-preggie guests drank them, including: Martin Sheen (who had 3 Preggie Provences!), Emilio Esteves, Erik Dane, Christine Taylor, Marla Maples, Jon Cryer, and Cathy and Paris Hilton.

Congrats to Brooke and Charlie and the baby boys who will soon be the next generation of Sheen brothers…

Counting Down the Days…

January 14, 2009

Maybe you can relate to actress Erinn Hayes if you are currently “with child!”

While visiting the Ferrari Sparkling Wine gifting suite prior to this past weekend’s Golden Globes, she jokingly held up this bottle of Ferrari sparkling wine and looks forward to toasting her new baby with a glass of bubbly…

Catch Erinn every Monday night in the hilarious sitcom “Worst Week” … in which she plays a pregnant lady. Would you call that “type casting?”

ONE Delicious & Healthy Drink

January 4, 2009

Every once in a while, even the most ardent cocktail lover reaches for a thirst quenching, healthy, nonalcoholic beverage. Water is great but can be a bit, well, dull. Ice tea is fine but kind of blah. Sodas don’t hold much interest to a more refined adult palate. What to do?

Why not pack an 11-ounce single serving of Coconut Water in your gym bag? Or add a carton of Cashew Juice to your lunch? Perhaps, some antioxidant-rich Açai Juice, or a little sip of Coffee Berry will tickle your fancy? Each of these is available to you from ONE beverages, a healthful alternative for the thirsty-yet- environmentally-conscious consumer.

ONE was started in 2005, and has a lot of things going for it. Besides intriguing (and tasty) pre-packaged drinks, ONE supports the Brazil Foundation (committed to preserving the Rain Forest) and Healthy Child Healthy World (dedicated to protecting children from harmful environmental exposures).

Additionally, ONE has an eye toward renewability and conserving fossil fuels by packaging the drinks in paperboard, whose wood fibers (accounting for about 70% of the Tetra Pak carton) come from responsibly managed forests. (Each tree cut down for use is replaced with a new one.) And, of course, they are recyclable.

I was especially excited to try the Coconut Water and Açai Juice as one of the recipes in my new book “Preggatinis: Mixology for the Mom-To-Be” calls for them. This Preggatini™comes from the section on CelebriBaby Preggatinis®:

Kingston Krush

Ska/pop star and designer diva Gwen Stefani and her hunky hubby Gavin Rossdale rock more than the music studio, as proven by their expanding family. With baby Zuma stealing the spotlight, this drink was created in honor of big brother Kingston, one of the coolest little kiddos in the public eye.

3 ounces coconut water (or 2 ounces coconut milk)
2 ounces açaí juice (or pomegranate juice)
1/2 ounce ginger-infused simple syrup
1/4 ounce lime juice
1/2 teaspoon coconut flakes

Pour all liquid ingredients into a mixing glass, shake with ice, then strain into a cocktail glass. Sprinkle with coconut flakes.

Zuma Rossdale has arrived!

September 3, 2008

Stefani’s first born son, Kingston, has a little bro named Zuma – and man, the internet is a-blaze with speculation as to why the baby was named that. Well, it seems pretty obvious to me, a fellow So-Cal girl, that the gorgeous stretch of Malibu shore called Zuma Beach could easily serve as inspiration. Duh!

Toast little Zuma with a drink created in honor of his big brother. The Kingston Krush is featured in the CelebriBaby Preggatini chapter in my book!

Bienvenue Brangelina Babies!

August 4, 2008

They’re heee-rre – and who doesn’t want to see the photos?

People Magazine reportedly paid upwards of $14 million to be the first to present the babies to the world. (Look for it on news stands now…)

The babies were born in (my dad’s hometown) Nice, France on July 12. Oooh-la-la. As if the French Riviera weren’t already glitzy enough!

Halle Berry’s Baby: Gnaw-la ah-ree-el-ah

March 19, 2008

According to OMG, the gorgeous Oscar winner and hottie boyfriend / life partner Gabriel Aubry have named their 7 pound, 4 ounce bundle of joy Nahla Ariela Aubry. Looks like Cat Woman has a lot to purr about!

By the way… you die-hard Halle Berry fans will want to pick up a copy of my upcoming book “Preggatinis: Mixology for the Mom-To-Be.” I created a Celebribaby Preggatini (TM) especially for her! You can drink it too…

Thanks to IMDB for the photo.
